A commission for Cambridge University Hospital.

Work-in-progress, installation, and artwork photography from a commission undertaken in 2025 for the new Histopathology Laboratory at Cambridge University Hospital.

The work generally falls into three themes:
– ‘What’ – the ‘stuff’ of pathology, the hands, tools, processes and people that undertake this work
– ‘How’ – how then, how now, and how into the future, the development of histopathology as a field of science and technology, and where there are overlaps with printmaking
– ‘Why’ – the new laboratory is designed to bring the outside in – its connection with nature and the natural environment serves as a reminder of what it is all for. Behind each slide is a person, a story, a family.
